Thetford Cassette Toilet

To use the cassette toilet, open the lid and switch the lever near the toilet base to the open position. After using the toilet, flush by pressing the button on the right of the toilet and then close the flap using the same lever. Make sure to always use the correct degradable toilet paper and put the recommended fluid back in the cassette after emptying. When ready to empty the toilet, the cassette access door is outside the vehicle just left of the sliding door. Press in one the two buttons, and the door will open downwards allowing access to the cassette. Next, remove the cassette using the handle on the bottom, and empty the waste. The cassette contents can be dumped in a porta potty, household or public toilet, or any other place intended for human waste disposal. After the cassette is empty, push it back into the toilet through the van door. It will click into place, and then the door can be closed.
