The Espar B4L Heater uses the gasoline in the vehicle's tank to heat the space. The control panel to operate the heater is located on the front of the sink cabinet. From there, set the heater mode, temperature and time operation limit. It is recommended that you continuously run the heater in cold weather to keep the electrical and plumbing elements from damage due to freezing temperatures. To prevent carbon build up within the heater, make sure the temperature is set well above the vans preexisting temperature, to keep the heater from idling. The temperature sensor is on the control unit. The heater will cycle on and off to reach the set temperature.

Maintenance: Espar recommends turning the heater on once a month and getting it serviced once a year to remove soot buildup and replace the glow pin screen, various gaskets, and the fuel filter.
